Jonathan Friedman represents clients in a broad range of complex, high-stakes commercial litigation, as well as in enforcement proceedings before the SEC and self-regulatory organizations (SROs). Jonathan also has extensive experience representing audit firms and their partners, officers and directors of public companies, securities broker-dealers and their employees and law firms and their partners in enforcement proceedings before the SEC and SROs.
As part of his pro bono practice, Jonathan has represented the Innocence Project in filing an amicus curiae brief with the Third Department Appellate Division that helped secure the freedom of a woman who had pleaded guilty based on scientific evidence that was later recognized as fraudulent.
In 2014 – 2016, Jonathan was selected for inclusion in the New York Super Lawyers - Rising Stars® lists.
Jonathan received his J.D. from New York University (2005), where he served as a notes editor of the New York University Law Review. He earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College (2002).
He is admitted to the New York Bar, as well as to the bars of the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
