Partner Steve Maebius was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “Pooling Patents to Speed Virus Treatments More Logical Than Easy,” about the challenges in pooling patents as a way to help address a health crisis. The ideas has been resurrected in light of the current pandemic, and although it makes logical sense, it’s not easy to effectuate.
“What the pandemic did was it galvanized all these different entities to look at a very specific medical problem that arose with incredible urgency and became an acute problem for the entire world,” Maebius said.
