Overview
Raymond (“R.J.”) McVeigh is an associate and litigation lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. R.J. focuses his practice on litigating complex commercial disputes and commercial contract and supply chain counseling. He is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice.
R.J. has experience litigating commercial disputes, often involving tens of millions of dollars, in both state and federal courts, including supply chain disputes, shareholder oppression, business torts, real property disputes and breach of contract and warranty claims. He has experience negotiating favorable settlements for clients, including assistance on multi-million dollar matters. R.J. has managed complex electronic discovery involving tens of thousands of documents and spanning multiple continents.
R.J. was a law clerk for the Honorable Daniel P. Collins of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Education
R.J. received his law degree from Harvard Law School (J.D., cum laude, 2020), where he was an editor and committee chair on the Harvard Law Review. At Harvard, he was also the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy, the university’s leading journal focusing on legal policy and debates. Additionally, during law school R.J. worked as a research assistant studying federal courts and interned with the Michigan Attorney General in the health care fraud division.
R.J. received his bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University (B.S., 2013).
