S&P Global Market Intelligence
Foley & Lardner LLP Public Affairs Director Dennis Cardoza is quoted in the S&P Global Market Intelligence article, “US House rules may be ‘recipe for getting nothing done’ in new Congress,” discussing the impact of recently adopted procedural changes in the U.S. House of Representatives on energy legislation.
Cardoza said that companies, including in the energy sector, “don’t want dysfunction.” “They may not like all the regulation that government provides, but the only thing worse than overregulation is having chaos for the business community,” he explained.
Cardoza added that he could see smaller-scale energy legislation passing the House, but the process “just won’t be as smooth and tidy as it was in the past.”
