Nicholas (Nick) Kitzman is a driven real estate attorney, advising clients on a wide variety of renewable energy and tax credit development, financing, and investment matters. Clients turn to Nick for his strategic, business-minded approach and tireless efforts to bring project development and complex financing, and joint venture structures to closing on a timely and efficient basis. He is a member of the Real Estate Practice and Tax Credit Development Team.

Representing a broad array of clients in all aspects of real estate including, wind, solar, and battery storage projects, Nick’s breadth of knowledge is invaluable to developers, lenders, and investors as they pursue acquiring, selling, developing, financing, and investing in renewable energy projects. Nick developed a tremendous skill for coordinating extensive project development portfolios through his exposure to complex, large-scale wind, and solar energy projects. As a member of the Firm’s Energy Sector Nick has experience in more than 20 states, across the most active renewable energy markets in the country. He knows how to leverage his in-depth knowledge of renewable energy project development and financing to provide unique value in identifying and resolving matters early on, saving clients time, and money.

As a leading member of the Tax Credit Development team, Nick’s experience in New Market Tax Credit (NMTC), Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), and other housing tax credit programs is invaluable to the clients he represents. Over the years, Nick has provided valuable assistance to clients involved in project structuring and financing. His expertise sets him apart as he skillfully navigates intricate grants, subordinate debt, revenue bonds, tax incremental financing, and equity structuring requirements, benefitting a diverse range of clients including those invested in LIHTC, NMTC, and other tax credits. Developers, lenders, tax credit investors, and community development entities all find Nick’s guidance to be highly advantageous in these transactions.
