Akiva M. Cohen is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm's IP Litigation and Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practices. Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Cohen was an associate at Thelen LLP in the Commercial Litigation Department and a member of Thelen's Securities Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Groups, where he represented clients in complex commercial litigation, copyright, trademark and trade secret disputes, employment and personal injury litigation and broker-dealer arbitration. Mr. Cohen has experience in federal and state civil litigation and appellate practice, Surrogate's Court practice and FINRA arbitration. Mr. Cohen received his J.D. from Columbia Law School (2004), where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and was awarded the Simon H. Rifkind Prize. Mr. Cohen received his B.A., cum laude, from CUNY- Queens College (2000). He is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Trusts and Estates' Section of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Cohen is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Mr. Cohen co-authored "Throwing Out The Baby With The Bathwater: FINRA's Latest Proposal To Limit Dispositive Motions," in PLI Securities Arbitration 2008: Evolving and Improving, Vol. Two 9 (David E.
