Chris Babcock is a senior counsel in Foley Gardere’s Dallas office, focusing on private equity and corporate governance and securities matters. Chris has experience representing private equity funds and their portfolio companies, public companies, privately held companies and nonprofits across multiple industries including the banking and finance, oil and gas, health care, industrial and manufacturing, and real estate sectors. In addition, he has successfully represented clients across a broad range of corporate governance matters, including representing activists in successful campaigns to change the direction of public companies, serving as an advisor to special committees, advising on disclosure requirements, and representing companies in connection Rule 14a-8 shareholder proposals. He has co-authored numerous articles relevant to mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters published by the Delaware Business Court Insider, the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation, Law360 and others. Chris was selected as a 2018 Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine.
Prior to law school, Chris served as an instructor-qualified airborne intelligence officer in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of captain.
