Overview

Mark A. Aiello is a partner and co-chair of the firm’s Automotive Industry Team. He is recognized by Chambers USA as a leading lawyer nationwide who represents companies in the automotive industry.

Mr. Aiello focuses on business transactions and commercial litigation, including supply chain agreements and litigation, product development and protection, as well as warranty and recall litigation. His experience includes serving as lead counsel in connection with business acquisitions and divestitures, as well as with regulatory, real estate, construction, franchise and distribution, surety and insurance, shareholder, and governance matters. He also has represented clients in arbitration and appellate proceedings, including before the state supreme court.

While in law school, Mr. Aiello interned for General Motors and has particular knowledge representing and advising automotive suppliers and in complex matters.

Recognition

Mr. Aiello has been nationally recognized by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers in the road transportation industry. He has also been included in the Michigan Super Lawyers® list for business litigation and awarded a 2017 Legal Excellence Award by Corporate Vision.

Education

Mr. Aiello received his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame, where he was associate editor of the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics & Public Policy. He also studied business at Yale University after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in finance, with high honors, from Michigan State University.

Professional Memberships

Mr. Aiello is co-chair of the Complex Litigation Committee for the Federal Bar Association (Eastern District of Michigan Chapter) and is a past director of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Community Engagement

Mr. Aiello is involved in numerous community activities and sits on a number of boards for local organizations, including Crime Stoppers of Michigan and the local Community Foundation.
