He has represented clients across a diverse array of industries including energy, finance, health care, manufacturing, real estate, and technology. Chris’ experience before federal and state courts and his representation of clients in domestic and international arbitrations and mediation involves a wide range of matters, encompassing employment, partnership, and shareholder disputes, breach of contract, fraud, and intellectual property.

Chris is heavily involved in the New York legal community. He is co-chair of the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) Committee on Leadership Development and serves on the Committee on Membership and the Strategic Planning Committee. In 2018, Chris was appointed to serve on NYSBA’s Presidential Task Force on Mass Shootings and Assault Weapons, where he chaired the subcommittee devoted to analyzing the relationship between mass shootings and mental health.

Chris McNamara is a first-chair trial lawyer who prepares every case as if it will end up in trial. In his commercial litigation practice, Chris is a highly skilled problem solver with commercial and practical perspectives that resonate with clients. Conversely, in his trial practice, Chris is an aggressive and zealous advocate for his clients with a particular talent for cross-examining key witnesses on the other side. In recent years, the majority of Chris’ work has focused on disputes among parties involved in the renewable energy industry; however, Chris has continued to represent clients across a diverse array of industries — including energy, finance, health care, manufacturing, real estate, and technology — and subject matters, including employment, partnership and shareholder disputes, contract disputes, business torts, intellectual property, and more. Clients recognize and value Chris’ level of preparation and attention to detail because they have seen the results, whether it be highly favorable pre-trial resolutions or successful outcomes at trial. Chris has repeatedly been recognized by the Best Lawyers in America as well as the New York Super Lawyers.
