Foley Attorneys Explore Domesticating Subpoenas in New York State

Foley & Lardner LLP partner Christopher McNamara and associate Quinn D’Isa authored the New York Law Journal article, “Domesticating Subpoenas Pursuant to New York’s Adoption of the Uniform Interstate Depositions and Discovery Act.”
The authors describe the steps necessary to domesticate an out-of-state subpoena in New York under Section 3119 of the New York Civil Practice and Law Rules codification of the Uniform Interstate Depositions and Discovery Act.
They also highlight best practices to navigate the mechanics of domesticating subpoenas in New York, including two options for litigants, and assess potential speed bumps to be avoided.
