Tory Matese is a partner and business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. She practices general corporate and business law, and regularly represents a broad range of clients on domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, private equity transactions, project finance and general corporate and contract counseling. She has extensive experience counseling public and private corporations and other business entities on matters involving formation, operation, and growth. Tory routinely assists clients in negotiating and drafting various operational documents, including equity purchase, asset purchase and merger documents, software and technology licensing agreements, supply, manufacturing, and distribution agreements, strategic alliance and joint venture agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements and equity incentive plans.
She is a member of the Transactional & Securities and Finance & Financial Institutions Practices and a member of the Sports, Energy, Medical Devices and Hospitality & Leisure Industry Teams.
Tory was named to DCA Live’s 2018 Rising Stars of Law “40 Under 40” list. She was also the 2015 recipient of the Children’s Charities Foundation’s Star for Children Award.
Tory earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., 2011), where she was administrative editor of the Georgetown Journal of Law and Public Policy and was a global teaching fellow for the Law in a Global Context Program. She graduated, magna cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in communication from Boston College (B.A., 2008) and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Tory is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
