On Wednesday, November 9, 2011, Foley’s Courtenay Brinckerhoff and Paul Hunter spoke on a Web conference addressing, “How US patent reform will affect your filing,” organized by Managing IP in association with Wolters Kluwer.
The America Invents Act changes many aspects of filing patents in the U.S., with shifting to a first-to-file system only the most publicized. This Web conference addressed the important changes that companies looking to file U.S. patents need to bear in mind, including prior art, business methods and the new expedited examination system.
