Firm Adds Nine Attorneys to Strengthen International, Corporate and Complex Litigation Practices.

Foley announced today that it will expand by opening an office in Miami effective December 10. The establishment of a Miami office is the latest phase of the firm’s strategic plan to increase its presence in key markets consistent with its national practice strategy.

The office will initially include nine attorneys from the Miami office of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC. Among these attorneys are William Davis, Guillermo Fernandez-Quincoces, Leslie Smith, Roy Barquet, Mark Neuberger, Darin Zenov, Alan Seagrave, Laura Ganoza and Christopher Furlan. These new attorneys will serve to complement Foley’s well established international, corporate, intellectual property, healthcare and complex litigation practices in Florida and nationwide.

“Establishing a Miami presence has been a priority for the firm for the past several years because it will provide a strategic platform for our international, corporate and high-end litigation practices and will be a base from which to grow these practices,” said Ralf Boer, chairman and CEO of Foley. “We waited for the right opportunity to align our firm with a group of laterals who will give us a solid foundation to expand our national nicheing strategy in this growing financial market.”

“We were drawn to Foley because the firm’s strong national footprint aligns with our core practices of complex litigation, labor & employment, immigration and international tax,” said Davis. “This is a tremendous opportunity for us to grow our practices with a leading national firm that offers the resources of offices in every major U.S. business center.”

The laterals practice in areas including complex litigation, IP litigation, distribution & franchise, labor & employment, immigration, international business transactions and international trusts & estates.

William Davis will serve as office managing partner for Foley’s Miami office. Davis is a mainstay in the Miami legal community, having represented business clients regarding banking, corporate, construction and IP litigation issues for more than 30 years. He led the Litigation Practice of Buchanan Ingersoll’s Miami and Aventura offices.

The Miami office will be located in the Bank of America Tower at 100 Southeast Second Street. Expansion into Miami follows office openings in downtown Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, New York and Boston over the past three years and is consistent with Foley’s focus on providing access to major markets nationwide to its attorneys and clients. Earlier this month the firm also announced the opening of a Shanghai office.

The Miami office is Foley’s fifth office in Florida. The firm has had a presence in the state for 25 years and has existing offices in Jacksonville, Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa.
