Partner Nathaniel Lacktman was quoted in a Buzzfeed article, “A High-Tech Way Of Getting Abortions May Soon Be Outlawed,” on June 10, 2015. The article discussed Planned Parenthood’s use of telemedical abortions, which is currently being reviewed by the Iowa Supreme Court after the Iowa Board of Medicine attempted to ban the virtual service. Lacktman explained that restricting technology-driven forms of health care can harm patients who couldn’t access services otherwise and said, “Telemedicine is not a different specialty type. It is simply the technological conduit through which the doctor provides medical services. To a certain extent, it’d be strange for a board of medicine to say you can do everything via telemedicine but X and Y services.”
