Sunny Levine Comments on Evolution of Teleheath Regulations
30 January 2023
Des Moines Register
Foley & Lardner Associate Sunny Levine is quoted in the Des Moines Register article, “Iowa telehealth startup OpenLoop plans massive downtown Des Moines expansion,” discussing the ongoing evolution of telehealth regulations.
Federal regulators temporarily loosened the rules surrounding digital health during the pandemic, and in December, Congress extended these rules through at least the end of 2024. Medicare will also begin reimbursing licensed marriage and family therapists and mental health counselors who meet with clients virtually next year.
“It’s a big change to encourage access and telehealth,” said Levine.
