26 August 2022
Foley & Lardner LLP Of Counsel Mark Neuberger is quoted in The Washington Post article, “Leaving your job? Take these steps before returning your work devices,” discussing best practices for how employees should save, transfer, and delete data from company-issued devices before leaving a job.
Neuberger said, “With the increase of people working remotely and more geographically dispersed because of COVID, this comes up all the time. It’s a significant issue for both employers and employees.”
He noted the importance for employees of doing things by the book, adding, “You don’t have to have the nuclear codes to get in trouble. Worst case scenario … they can come after you with civil or criminal charges.”
