Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Editorial Board Cites Foley Health Care Law Today Blog in Editorial Encouraging Waiver of State-Specific Medical Licensing Requirements Amid Pandemic
30 March 2020
In an editorial encouraging states to continue to support state-specific medical licensing requirement waivers to help more doctors join the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the editorial board of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette cited Foley’s Health Care Law Today blog which declared the flexibility as a positive emerging trend: “The issuance of new or amended emergency declarations is evolving rapidly. As more states declare a public health emergency, we can expect, or at least hope for, related waivers of barriers to care.”
State-specific licensing should not be a barrier to care, during an emergency situation or otherwise, the board wrote.
