Attorney Betsy Rosen received the Champion for Justice Award from Her Justice for her recent pro bono work securing a rare type of immigration status on behalf of her client’s three minor daughters living in Mexico. Less than 25 percent of humanitarian parole applications are approved, and Rosen compiled seemingly endless documents and secured numerous requirements necessary to complete the applications. After nine months and countless phone calls, meetings and document filings, the client’s daughters were granted humanitarian parole. The children are now reunited with their mother after seven years and are now living together in New York.
The Champion of Justice Award honors a volunteer who has gone above and beyond to help his/her client achieve justice. In addition to her legal work, Rosen is a supporter of Her Justice and has served on the Red Party Committee, the Volunteer Corps Advisory Council and will soon join the Junior Advisory Board. She actively recruits fellow associates to take pro bono cases with Her Justice and helps more women and children get the justice they deserve.
