The article discussed a Massachusetts bill that would force insurers to pay for telemedicine visits at the same rate they do for in-person treatment. Lacktman was quoted saying, “By including payment parity, it definitely does inhibit the short-term savings for a health plan.” He continued to explain that state-mandated coverage is a better option.
