The article examined the new ownership group, which includes Raij, of the Los Angeles Football Club, a Major League Soccer expansion team that will replace Chivas USA. Raij provided insights on next steps for the team, which includes securing a site for the soccer-specific stadium. He was quoted saying, “The soccer landscape has really changed in this country since when I grew up. There’s enormous interest in the World Cup and European soccer that has led to a growing popularity for MLS. [LAFC] was a unique opportunity to get in on the ground level.”
