Partner Jeanne Gills was quoted in an Inc. Magazine article published on April 29, 2014, titled “Supreme Court Deals Death Blow to Patent Trolls.” The article discussed a decision made by the U.S. Supreme Court to ease the standards by which prevailing parties in patent infringement cases may earn court fees and explained the potential effects it could have on small businesses. Gills said, taken together, the rulings will “probably benefit more the accused infringers in [non-practicing entity] cases than the NPE filing party.”
