KERA covered John Neely Bryan Elementary School fourth-grader Chinelo King's win at the 21st Annual Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition. The question students answered for this year's competition was, "If you could talk directly to Dr. King about your dream for our future, what would you tell him?"
"If I, Chinelo King, could speak directly to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. about my hope and dreams for our world, the first thing I would say is thank you. Thank you for being a courageous voice to speak up for civil rights," Chinelo said.
