Forbes published a story about the suit Yahoo brought against Facebook alleging that the social networking site copied Yahoo's idea. Gardere Partner Peter S. Vogel, chair of the Firm's Internet, eCommerce and Technology Industry Team, was asked to comment on the subject.
"Yahoo had every right to go after Facebook this way," Mr. Vogel said. "As for the (as some would say) sleazy timing of filing the suit before Facebook's IPO, when the company is most vulnerable and most likely to settle – what of it? From its own shareholders' point of view that is good strategic planning."
