Partner Irwin Raij, who led the team of Foley attorneys that assisted Guggenheim Baseball Management, an ownership group headed by Magic Johnson, Guggenheim CEO Mark Walter and former Nats president Stan Kasten, in its purchase of the Los Angeles Dodgers, said the record-setting deal signing marked a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. He stated that the mood at the deal signing was joyous for everyone. The firm’s involvement in this deal follows on the heels of its successful representation of Rangers Baseball Express LLC in its acquisition of the Texas Rangers, and the Ricketts family in its acquisition of the Chicago Cubs.
