This NDI Web conference, The Evolving Role of the Chief Legal Officer, explored the evolving role and expectations of and by corporate General Counsel, including expectations of the CEO, of independent directors, of shareholders and of government agencies; optimal staffing of legal services and management of legal budgets (including alternative billing practices); and the ancillary duties of the General Counsel, which might include CAO, CCO, IR, PR and Government Relations among others.
