This conference brings together Nanotech researchers, executives, policy-makers, patent practitioners, and investors from the medical, business, patent and life sciences community to discuss the most important applications of nanotechnology in drug delivery, diagnostics and medical devices.

Monday March 26, Jackie Wright Bonilla, senior counsel and a member of the firm’s Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical, Intellectual Property Litigation and Appellate Practices, will be speaking at 3:00 p.m. on “IP Issues related to Personalized Medicine.” This presentation will provide an overview of significant patent cases relating to personalized medicine, and examine the impact of such cases on the future of the practice.

David Rosen, leader of the FDA Practice and co-chair of the Life Sciences Industry Team, will be moderating the session entitled, “Regenerative Medicine: Cutting Edge Issues with Combination Products” on March 27. Chris Anzalone, Ph.D, Benet Group and Professor Sam Stupp, Northwestern University along with Ted Bornstein, a partner in Foley’s Public Affairs and White Collar Defense & Corporate Compliance Practices, will participate as panel members. The panel will discuss cutting edge issues with combination products, where stem cells are being combined with nanotech in regenerative medicine initiatives including the business challenges and opportunities, technical challenges, funding strategies as well as the legal and regulatory issues.
