Partner Richard Johns will be speaking at the Health Care Compliance Association’s (HCCA) South Atlantic Local Annual Conference on Friday, January 25, 2008 in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. Johns will be presenting from 3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. with Bill Huron, Chief Compliance Officer, Sorin Group and Scott Larson, VP, Legal and General Counsel, Gambro BCT. Their session is titled: “Creating and Enhancing an Effective Compliance Program in the Throes of an Investigation.”
Topics to be discussed include:
- Discuss the elements of an effective compliance program and the impact of the United States Sentencing Guideline Amendments of 2004
- Focus on the particular obstacles encountered with creating an effective compliance program during an external criminal or civil health care fraud investigation by a government agency
- Address the impact of a resolution of the external government investigation on an organization’s compliance program
