Foley Partner Kevin Schulz has been recognized by The M&A Advisor as one of its national 40 Under 40 Winners in the Legal Advisor category for 2013.
The M&A Advisor, renowned globally for its recognition of leading M&A, financing and turnaround professionals, created this event to promote mentorship and professional development amongst emerging business leaders.
Mr. Schulz has been chosen for his accomplishments and knowledge from a pool of international nominees by an independent judging panel of distinguished business leaders.
“In 2010 we initiated the 40 Under 40 Awards to recognize the emerging leaders of the M&A, Financing and Turnaround industries,” said David Fergusson, president of The M&A Advisor. “It is our belief that this group of accomplished women and men will have a significant effect on the advancement of our industry. And it is our great pleasure to recognize them and provide a forum for them to meet and engage with one another.”
Mr. Schulz represents buyers and sellers, both domestically and internationally, in mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, internal reorganizations, joint ventures, and other strategic alliances in a variety of industries, including professional sports, food and beverage, consumer products, industrial equipment, manufacturing, and consulting services. He also serves the role of outside general counsel for a number of private companies, routinely advising them in connection with various commercial matters. As a key member of Foley’s Sports Industry Team, Mr. Schulz has played a critical role in a number of M&A transactions in the sports industry, including the record-setting acquisition of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the acquisition of the Texas Rangers, the acquisition of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field, the sale of a significant minority interest in the Cincinnati Bengals, and the sale of the Milwaukee Brewers.
“I am grateful to have had the opportunity to represent so many good clients in buying and selling their businesses throughout my career, and I am proud to have successfully led them through the M&A transaction process and helped them achieve their goals and objectives. It is truly an honor to be recognized among some of the nation’s top M&A talent for this award,” said Mr. Schulz.
Mr. Schulz will be honored at a black tie event in New York City on October 1st when The M&A Advisor introduces the 40 Under 40 Award Winners to the business community to celebrate their achievements.
