Partner Mike Overly was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “Microsoft-TikTok Deal Would See Deadline Pressure, Privacy Risks,” about whether Microsoft Corp. will be able to meet a government deadline to resolve privacy and security concerns in time to meet a U.S. government imposed deadline.
Privacy and security issues have become front-of-mind concerns in recent years as data use and targeted advertising has grown in scope, said Overly.
Companies should be asking what “are the security measures in this software, how is the data being handled, where is it being stored, and who has access to that data,” he added.
