On January 20, 2010, the Associated Press reported that the former Thai tourism official named in the FCPA enforcement action against Gerald and Patricia Green, Juthamas Siriwan, was indicted along with her daughter, Jittisopa Siriwan, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. As noted in a previous post (available here), on September 11, 2009, the Greens were found guilty of conspiring to violate the FCPA and money laundering laws, as well as of substantive violations of the FCPA and money laundering laws. The Greens were alleged to have paid approximately $1.8 million in bribes to the former governor and, in return, received more than $13.5 million in revenue to businesses they owned. The indictment charges the Juthamas and Jittisopa Siriwan with one count of conspiracy, seven counts of transporting funds to promote unlawful activity (bribery), and one count of aiding and abetting.
