Senior Counsel Patrick Wong and Associate Yesenia Garcia Perez authored an article on the significant provisions of Assembly Bill 278/Senate Bill 900, dubbed the “Homeowner Bill of Rights” (HBOR). The authors state that mortgage servicers must implement procedures to ensure compliance with the sizable obligations and restrictions of HBOR. They add that loan servicing employees must be given proper training and the right tools in their daily activities in evaluating loans and dealing with borrowers.
