Christopher Heck Elected to Board of The Los Angeles County Bar Foundation

Foley announced today that Christopher J. Heck, senior counsel in the firm’s Los Angeles office, has been elected to serve on the board of directors of the Los Angeles County Bar Foundation (LACBF) for a three-year term.
He will start his term July 1, 2007 and his main responsibilities will include raising money for projects sponsored by the Bar Association and other local legal services projects, serving on the Grants Committee and actively participating in the management of LACBF.
Heck is a member of the firm’s General Commercial Litigation and Antitrust Practices. His practice focuses on antitrust and trade regulation, commercial contracts and insurance coverage disputes. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust section, as well as the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Litigation and Antitrust Trade Regulation sections. He has served as a board member of the Disability Rights Legal Center since 2004 and is now the treasurer.
The LACBF is the non-profit charitable arm of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. It has been raising money for law-related programs serving the underprivileged in Los Angeles County since 1967. Programs funded by LACBF encompass a wide range of services including, but not limited to, assisting victims of domestic violence, providing immigration services, offering alternative dispute resolution and teaching youth their rights and responsibilities under the law.
The board of directors oversees the management of the Foundation and maintains the financial health necessary to accomplish the Foundation’s objectives. Board members are selected for their leadership in the legal community, managerial and professional skills, fundraising abilities and an interest in supporting the LACBF mission.
