Sam Nguyen Joins in Silicon Valley, Marc Henschke Joins in Boston; Additions Build on Firm’s New York Lateral Announcements Earlier this Month.
Foley announced today that Sam Nguyen and Marc Henschke will join the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. In addition to his many years as a practicing attorney, Nguyen brings 10 years as a principal research chemist to his counseling practice, while Henschke will handle complex commercial litigation with a focus on patent infringement in high tech arenas.
News of patent attorneys Nguyen and Henschke joining comes on the heels of Foley’s recent announcement of Trademark, Copyright and Advertising attorneys Andy Baum, Robert Weisbein and Karin Segall joining in New York. By adding these attorneys to its ranks, Foley continues building its full-service IP practice, which for years has been known as an international leader in this space.
“The addition of Sam and Marc is consistent with Foley’s strategic plan to reinforce the firm’s resources and reputation in IP counseling and litigation and enhances our presence on both coasts,” said Sharon R. Barner, chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. “These additions, combined with other significant IP laterals, have bolstered Foley’s ability to offer the full scope of litigation and other counseling services in the chemical and pharmaceutical spaces, as well as internet and wireless content. We believe we are now one of the few firms with broad spectrum coverage in the IP area.”
Sam Nguyen joins as a partner in the Chemical & Pharmaceutical Practice in the firm’s Silicon Valley office. Drawing on 10 years as a principal research chemist with a multinational pharmaceutical company, he has counseled corporations on procurement and enforcement of their patent portfolios, drafted and negotiated third-party licensing agreements, as well as counseled clients in various corporate compliance matters. Nguyen joins Foley from Heller Ehrman LLP.
Marc Henschke joins the IP Litigation Practice in Foley’s Boston office. He handles all aspects of complex commercial litigation, specializing in patent infringement cases in the high-tech space. He has experience representing products and technologies spanning multiple industries, including network switchers and routers, computer software, e-commerce applications, laptop computers, cell phones, video cameras and PDA devices. Henschke joins Foley from Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi LLP.
