Foley Senior Counsel Christi Adams was quoted in an article titled “Yes, they can see credit info — but so can you” in the Orlando Sentinel’s “Ask a Lawyer” section on July 27, 2009. Adams discusses consumer reports requested for employment-related purposes, noting that the reports may include any information that bears on a consumer’s credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics or mode of living. She adds that employers must have a legitimate business need for the information, and must provide certain disclosures to the applicant.
