Foley Partner Patrick Daugherty was quoted in an article that appeared in Inside Investor Relations on August 21, 2010 titled “M&A returns but with new complications.” Daugherty discusses the new hurdles that have emerged as lending activity begins to increase in the wake of the financial crisis. He states that M&A activity has picked up for businesses that have a record of profits and reliable cash flow, but notes that good deals are not being financed with the same liberality that immediately preceded the financial meltdown.
