Foley Partner Antoinette Konski was quoted in an article that appeared in Pharmawire on August 31, 2010 titled “Recent stem cell legal decision to have significant impact on academic research, downstream clinical research – sources.” Konski discusses a temporary injunction issued by the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia that will prevent President Obama’s executive order pertaining to embryonic stem cell research and funding from taking effect. She states that the decision creates uncertainty in embryonic stem cell research, adding that new restrictions on federal funding for research will result in a loss of talent in the US as more research is conducted overseas.
