Foley is pleased to announce that the firm has been awarded a 100 percent ranking on the 2014 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) for workplace equality in regard to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) employees. In addition to satisfying all of the CEI criteria, Foley has been recognized as a “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.”
Foley’s top ranking comes as a result of the following initiatives:
- Benefits for domestic partners and transgender employees
- Retirement benefits for same-sex partners
- Comprehensive health care coverage for transgender employees
- Providing pro bono work specific to LGBT-related issues
- LGBTA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Allies) Affinity Group
The LGBTA provides a forum for attorneys to address issues of equality in the legal profession. This group is open to all attorneys, not only to those who consider themselves members of the LGBT community. Together, the LGBTA Affinity Group works to ensure that diversity efforts also represent the needs and interests of LGBT attorneys at Foley and beyond.
The HRC Foundation’s CEI report, provides an in-depth analysis and rating of large U.S. employers with an emphasis on policies and practices pertinent to LGBT employees. HRC invites Fortune 1000 businesses and AmLaw 200 law firms to participate. To see a copy of the full report, visit hrc.org/cei.
