Senior Counsel Dario Carnevale was recently named one of Miami Daily Business Review’s Top Dealmakers of the Year for leading one of south Florida’s largest and most complex deals of 2013. Carnevale was recognized for representing 551 North FLB Marketing, LLC in the sale of the former Trump International Hotel and Tower Fort Lauderdale, a 24-story prime oceanfront property. The sale was valued at $115 million. The Foley team worked with the seller on complex litigation affecting the property to reach a sales agreement with the buyer, CFLB Partnership LLC. Carnevale was quoted saying, “We had to step into the shoes of the lender and fight a bankruptcy and foreclose on the property in order to get title of the property, which allowed us to settle the claims from these deposit holders and then place the property for sale.”
