Bloomberg Businessweek
Partners Irwin Raij and Kevin Schulz were quoted in a Bloomberg Businessweek article published on May 2, 2014, titled “So You’ve Decided to Buy the Los Angeles Clippers.” The article discussed the extensive process involved with purchasing the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team, a scenario that depends on whether Owner Donald Sterling will be forced to sell the basketball franchise. Schulz was quoted saying, “In our experience dealing with other deals, it would be more common than not for the money to be up front.” Raij explained what he looks for in prospective buyers even before league discussions start. He likened the challenge of getting to a winning bid as a “very long conference-room table where there are documents from the beginning all the way to the end, and then back.”
