09 August 2014
San Antonio Express News
Associate Christopher Swift was quoted in a San Antonio Express News article, “Bergdahl’s Lawyer Knows the Military, Media,” on August 9, 2014. The story examined the legal issues surrounding the investigation of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who disappeared from his unit in Afghanistan and later spent five years in captivity by the Taliban. Swift was quoted saying, “To the extent that anybody in the United States is aware of this issue right now, it’s because people have already tried and convicted (Bergdahl) in the court of public opinion…And under those circumstances, if I were advising Bergdahl, I would say you need a lawyer who’s going to be able to manage the story in addition to being able to manage the law.”
