Partner Michael Overly was quoted in an article, “Cloudy Outlook,” which appeared in the November 2014 issue of Inside Counsel. The article discussed the issues surrounding regulation and compliance for data stored using cloud computing. Overly was quoted saying, “There’s a baseline that we really don’t have laws in the United States that simply prohibit transferring of data outside the United States; rather there is generally an obligation that you need to understand where your data is, who has it and confirm you are acting reasonably to protect it.”
