Partners Tim Spear and Rachel Steely Selected to 2016 ‘Who’s Who in Energy’ List

Spear and Rachel Powitzky Steely have been named among the Houston energy industry’s movers and shakers on the 2016 “Who’s Who in Energy” list. Compiled by the Houston Business Journal, the list recognizes the top energy leaders in the respective market.

Mr. Spear is co-chair of the Firm’s energy team. He assists clients involved in acquisitions, divestitures and financing of energy and infrastructure projects worldwide. He also frequently assists on workouts, restructurings and distressed debt transactions for banks and corporate clients, as well as for private equity funds and hedge funds. He has been the lead external counsel on a number of oil and gas transactions with sale prices in excess of $1 billion.

Ms. Steely is recognized as one of the foremost female trial lawyers in Texas and is co-chair of the Firm’s labor and employment practice. She specializes in employment law, counseling companies and executives throughout the U.S. on prevention of costly litigation and methods to increasing employee performance. Ms. Steely has represented clients in various sectors, including oil and gas services and production, as well as insurance brokerage, security, safety, chemical, service and retail.

The highly selective “Who’s Who in Energy” list is compiled by the editors of the Houston Business Journal and sister publications in Denver, Pittsburgh and San Antonio. The publications include 100 professionals from each respective city. Honorees were selected based on open nominations, industry outreach and internal research by each publication.
