Local Lifestyle Publications Feature Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition in Dallas and Houston
In local Dallas news, D Magazine’s current events blog Frontburner published a preview and video of Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition first-place winner Wesley Stoker presenting his speech at the ABC WFAA Channel 8 studio.
“You told me that you have a favorite part of your speech that you wanted to share today… and what is that?” asked Kara Sewell, anchor of Daybreak.
“I may not look like Dr. King, but I believe like Dr. King,” replied Wesley.
Prior to the competition, Fort Bend Lifestyles and Homes featured event chair Claude Treece and discussed his participation in the competition.
“These students possess such talent and passion every year, and it’s inspiring to see today’s youth understand the continued impact of Dr. King’s legacy on our country,” said Treece, who also serves as the CEO of Gardere.
