Partner Nate Lacktman was quoted in a Modern Healthcare article, “$3.7M in telehealth payments didn’t meet Medicare requirements, OIG finds,” about the high percentage of sampled telemedicine claims that were found not to meet Medicare requirements.
Lacktman said hospitals should keep in mind that they may be under increased scrutiny and make sure that their patients are in rural locations. “It’s not something to play fast and loose with,” he said. “You should do a bit of your homework on the front end.”
