Partner Nate Lacktman was quoted in an article in Medical Economics, “Get paid for using the patient portal,” about the development of two new HCPCS codes that will allow physicians to receive Medicare reimbursements for some types of virtual check-ins and asynchronous remote evaluations.
Lacktman said the development of the two new codes is a game changer. “These codes could reduce physician burnout and the need to double- or triple-book appointments,” he said. “Unlike traditional Medicare telehealth services, these codes have no rural geographic limitations. The patient can be anywhere, including at home.”
