Nelson Comments on New SEC Guidance

Of Counsel Margaret Gembala Nelson was quoted in a Bloomberg Tax article, “How Many Gifts Can Auditors Buy Clients and Still Be Independent?” about new SEC guidance on auditor independence rules and prohibited services.

Nelson said the new guidance “make[s] it clear the nature and frequency of the gifts and entertainment will be considered when determining whether independence is impaired.”
