Foley Advises Combate Global in Multi-Year Media Rights Deal with CBS Sports and Paramount+

Foley & Lardner LLP acted as legal counsel to Combate Global (formerly Combate Americas, LLC) – the world’s premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise – in its multi-year media rights deal with CBS Sports and Paramount+, a digital subscription video-on-demand and live streaming service from ViacomCBS, to serve as the U.S. English-language home of Combate MMA action.

Pursuant to the media rights deal, CBS Sports’ live coverage of Combate Global debuted on CBS Sports Network on June 25, 2021, and is continuing exclusively on Paramount+ from July 9, 2021, through the remainder of the 2021 Combate Global schedule. Paramount+ will feature 30 live events annually in 2022 and 2023, along with on-demand availability of Combate’s fight library. CBS Sports Network will complement Combate coverage with a weekly one-hour recap show highlighting that week’s fights and re-airs of Combate’s events.
