Chris Ward Quoted on New COVID-19 Vaccine Rules for Contract Federal Workers
Foley Partner Chris Ward was quoted in a Business Insider article, “Airline staffers won’t have to be vaccinated before the holiday travel season — but tension and uncertainty remain in wake of extended vaccine deadline,” about the Biden administration’s new COVID-19 vaccine rules for contractors of the federal government. This outline includes pushing back the vaccine mandate for federal contractors, including airline workers, to January 4, 2022.
Ward stated that a company without a fully vaccinated workforce might not be eligible to do business with the federal government when tome comes to renewing bids for government contracts.
“At the end of the day, if the government wants to pull the plug on the contract for noncompliance with their requirement, they can do so,” Ward said. “That’s sort of the nuclear option here.”
