Foley & Lardner LLP represented Jet Sports Management, a Tampa-based sports representation agency, in its sale to Wasserman, a global sports, music, and entertainment agency. Wasserman, already one of the largest agencies in the sports representation business, will significantly bolster its baseball division with this acquisition.
Founded in 1999 by former Foley attorney B.B. Abbott, Jet Sports Management is known as one of the most effective sports agencies in baseball. The agency represents a number of premiere current and former Major League Baseball all-stars, including Byron Buxton, Matt Olson and Hall of Famer Chipper Jones.
As part of the acquisition, Wasserman has hired B.B. Abbott as Executive Vice President and Managing Executive of Baseball, as well as baseball agents Andrew Lowenthal, Al Goetz, Hank Sargent, Alex Ott, Tyler Pastornicky and Blaise Salter, to join Wasserman’s baseball division effective immediately.
The Foley team was led by Partner Steve Vazquez and included Associates Britton Alexander and Matt Deegan.
