Our Curious Amalgam
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Christi Lawson appeared on the American Bar Association’s Our Curious Amalgam podcast episode, “Can You Click, Cancel, and Comply? How the FTC Is Unsubscribing Businesses From Deceptive Practices.”
Lawson provided an overview of the rule, assessing its legal, economic, and behavioral implications. She also described the rule’s broader impacts on businesses, consumers, and the wider regulatory landscape.
“One of the most important features, and why it’s called the Click-to-Cancel rule, is that the ability to cancel that subscription must be easy for the consumer to find, and needs to be clear and conspicuous,” Lawson explained.
The full podcast episode can also be listened to on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
